Our resident betting expert is tipping Cheltenham and Everton to both score but reckons David Moyes’ men should have too much quality and run out comfortable winners on Monday night.
Fellaini has been Everton’s standout performer this season, with the Belgium international netting eight goals in 16 appearances from midfield in the Premier League. The 25-year-old’s large, muscular frame will prove a nightmare for Cheltenham to contend with, and as a result, the Tipster is backing Fellaini to score any time in this FA Cup third-round tie at great odds of 5/4.
Remarkably, Moyes’ men have failed to keep a clean sheet since a 3-0 victory over Swansea City in the middle of September – both sides have scored in Everton’s last 17 games in all competitions. Furthermore, Cheltenham have conceded in two of their last three home games. Both teams to score at Evens looks like a very good bet for Monday night.
The Tipster has already talked about Everton’s poor defensive record this season – or at least their inability to keep clean sheets. There have been over 2.5 goals in five of their last six Premier League games – and while our betting expert can see Cheltenham netting a goal, he expects Everton to win. Therefore, over 2.5 goals and Everton to win looks a good shout at 5/6.
Everton’s goal-scoring form has been relatively modest this season. The Toffees have only scored more than two goals in a single game on four occasions – against West Ham United, Southampton, Swansea City and Leyton Orient. While the Tipster doesn’t expect the Toffees to run away with victory, he reckons Everton to score over 2.5 goals is a solid bet at 6/5.
For the long shot, the Tipster is buying into the magic of the cup. League Two’s Cheltenham Town are sure to offer a tough test for the Toffees – in the opening period at least – backed by a vociferous crowd. Our man-in-the-know expects Everton to have too much quality not to win – eventually – but reckons the Premier League side to come behind to secure victory is definitely worth a punt at 11/2.
