The 27-year-old Senegal striker signed a three-and-a-half year contract with the Blues on Friday, two days after the west Londoners sold Daniel Sturridge to Liverpool for £12m.
Chelsea have been linked with a host of players in recent weeks, including the likes of Shakhtar Donetsk playmaker Willian and Atlético Madrid forward Radamel Falcao.
But the Spaniard says he is in the dark over the west Londoners’ plans for the coming month ahead of Chelsea’s FA Cup clash at Southampton on Saturday.
“To be fair, I don’t know [if there will be any more signings],” said the Chelsea interim boss. “I think that we needed a striker right now just in case.
“We will see with the rest of the squad but at the moment we are happy with the first signing.
“We don’t talk about players. It’s part of the business that the club has to do. We will talk inside and then see what we can do.”
Benítez was also full of praise for Stamford Bridge new-boy Ba, who has already netted 13 Premier League goals this term.
He added: “He can score goals, he can hold up the ball, he has good movement and is good in the air. As a striker, he has everything that you are looking for.”
