Harry Redknapp has insisted he holds no ill feeling towards Tottenham Hotspur, with the Queens Park Rangers manager set to face his former employers at Loftus Road on Saturday.
The 65-year-old was unceremoniously sacked by Spurs in June, despite leading the club to a fourth-place finish and reaching the Champions League last eight in 2011.
It capped what had – on paper at least – been a miserable couple of months for Redknapp after missing out on England job despite being the favourite to succeed Fabio Capello.
But Redknapp, who has previously managed at Bournemouth, Portsmouth, Southampton and West Ham United, holds no grudges despite the premature end to his reign at White Hart Lane.
The QPR boss said: “Listen, what am I supposed to do? Say, ‘I hope West Ham do really badly, I hope Southampton do crap, I hope Bournemouth keep losing’?
“Why does it affect me? I don’t worry about these things – I swear on my wife’s life! I don’t care about them [Spurs] anymore. I’m not interested. Good luck to them. I hope they win the league one day.
“I don’t go through my life like that [holding grudges]. It’s a good thing. Perhaps that’s why I enjoy my life so much. I’m not a jealous, bitter, twisted person.
“People have taking liberties with me in my life like you’d never believe. But I forgive and forget, and shake their hand. That’s how I live.”
Redknapp maintains that he has no idea why Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy choose to sack him after turning the club from relegation candidates to an established top-five side.
He added: “I don’t think I will [ever ask Levy about his decision]. I didn’t have an inclination. I went to see him about signing a new contract. I went home and played golf.”
