Demba Ba returns to Newcastle United for the first time since moving to Chelsea in January – and the Tipster is backing the Senegal striker to score for the Blues at St James’ Park on Saturday.

Our resident betting expect is predicting over 2.5 goals between the Magpies and Rafael Benítez’s side, with the Tipster’s long shot a high-scoring draw.

Elsewhere, he reckons Wayne Rooney will continue his recent goal-scoring run with a strike against Fulham, while also backing Manchester United to be winning at half-time and full-time.

Ba to score for Newcastle against Chelsea – 20/21

It will be an emotional return to Newcastle for Ba on Saturday, just weeks after swapping St James’ Park for Stamford Bridge. The Senegal international has scored three goals in seven appearances for the Blues after netting an impressive 29 in 58 outings in the Premier League for the Magpies. Ba is the man for the big occasion, and as a result, the Tipster is backing the African to net against Newcastle at 20/21.

Over 2.5 goals in Newcastle v Chelsea – ¾

There have been over 2.5 goals scored in five of Newcastle’s last six home games in the English top flight. It’s a similar story with Chelsea, who have netted at least twice in their last four Premier League games. Even a quick glance at their midweek results give an indication to the type of game which we can expect at St James’ Park – Newcastle were 2-1 winners against Aston Villa, while Chelsea drew 2-2 with Reading. The Tipster is backing over 2.5 goals between Newcastle and Chelsea.

Rooney to score any time for Man Utd v Fulham – 20/21

Expect Sir Alex Ferguson to continue fielding Wayne Rooney in a left-midfield position after the England international scored twice from that position against Southampton on Wednesday night. The Tipster has already remarked earlier this season that Rooney scores his goals in clusters. The 26-year-old has netted four goals in his last four outings, so the Tipster is backing Rooney to net against Fulham at 20/21.
Bet365 odds

Man Utd to be winning at half-time and full-time v Fulham – 7/5

The 19-time English champions are seven points clear of nearest rivals Manchester City in the title race – and the Red Devils can extend that to 10 by Saturday evening. United have been winning at half-time and gone on to claim three points in their last five matches against Fulham – and in four of their last five outings in the Premier League! So for that reason, United to be winning at half-time and full-time is a great shout at 7/5.

The long shot: Over 2.5 goals and Newcastle & Chelsea to draw – 17/2

As already discussed in this edition, the Tipster believes this will be a high-scoring affair on Saturday. Recent history shows that there are normally plenty of goals in this fixture. With the Magpies securing a morale-boosting win at Villa Park and Chelsea squandering a two-goal lead at the Madejski Stadium, the Tipster reckons over 2.5 goals and Newcastle and Chelsea to draw is worth a punt at 17/2.
