Manchester City are now a daunting 15 points adrift in the Premier League title race, but the Tipster is backing Sergio Aguero to edge the defending champions back into contention against Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

Our resident betting expert is backing Argentina international Aguero to score first in the clash and City to beat Chelsea at Eastlands.

Meanwhile, in the Capital One Cup final, he’s tipping Swansea to beat Bradford City by at least two goals – and expects Michu to score a brace.

Aguero to score first in Man City v Chelsea – 9/2

Mancini’s strikers got amongst the goals in their win over Leeds in the FA Cup, with Sergio Aguero in particular looking very sharp. It’s Aguero that the Tipster is looking to for some value in this game. It has been an extremely disappointing second campaign for the talented Argentine. He has only managed nine league goals all season, and was criticised publicly by Mancini, along with the other strikers, in the wake of their 2-2 draw with Liverpool. However, he should be full of confidence for this game after finding the net twice against Leeds. The Tipster’s opening bet is Aguero to score first at 9/2.

Man City to beat Chelsea – 10/11

City are 15 points behind Manchester United, so only a win will do. The Citizens are set to welcome back Vincent Kompany, and with Yaya Touré back too, they will be virtually at full strength. City’s recent record is very good against Chelsea, winning the last three games at the Etihad. Chelsea had a game against Sparta on Thursday and key men like Juan Mata, Gary Cahill, John Terry and Ramires had to play the full quota. So the City team should be fresher and it’s basically win or bust for Man City here, so for that reason and with a fully fit squad, the Tipster is backing Man City to win at 10/11.

Swansea to beat Bradford City by two goals – 3/1

There is a huge gulf between these sides, as you would expect in a match that pits a Premier League side against a League Two outfit. Bradford’s only hope is to cause some trouble at set pieces. They won’t see enough of the ball though. Swansea are an outstanding side, and of their nine league wins, six have been by at least a two-goal margin. The Tipster expects them to win this comfortably at Wembley at odds of 3/1.

Michu to score two goals or more v Bradford – 10/3

The Tipster reckons Michu to score two or more goals is generous at 10/3. He’s the focal point of the team and has scored quite a few braces this season (against QPR twice in the league, Arsenal, Norwich). When Swansea win games, they usually do so by a couple of goals as they pass you to death. Taking into account the standard of opposition they are facing at the weekend, the Tipster thinks Michu to score two goals or more is a great shout at 10/3.

The long shot: Man City to beat Chelsea 2-1 – 15/2

The Tipster reckons City will edge to victory to keep their Premier League title bid on life support. The Citizens are unbeaten in 37 of their last 38 Premier League games at the Etihad, while they’ve won their last three home games against Chelsea in all competitions. Two of those three triumphs were 2-1 victories and the Tipster’s long shot is City to win by the same score line at 15/2.
