Moussa Sissoko’s double helped Newcastle United overturn Chelsea’s second-half lead and secure three points at St James’ Park.

Elsewhere, Arsenal were winners against Stoke City and Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney netted a late winner at Craven Cottage.

Here is the best of the Twitter reaction to Saturday’s action from the professionals, in chronological order.

Arsenal striker Lukas Podolski (‏@Podolski10) is happy with the win: “Great victory, we needed the three points, thanks a lot for the reception, it was an amazing atmosphere. Love you #Gunners”

Former Ireland midfielder Matt Holland ‏(@mattholland8) reckons Frank Lampard should be given the Blues job: “Chelsea shouldn’t just give Frank Lampard a new contract – they should make him manager. #imnotjokingeither”

Notts County man Jordan Stewart (‏@jordanstewart3) can’t believe what he’s just witnessed: “Just seen Sissoko give Ashley Cole the full roast. #AbsoluteSpeedDemon”

Celtic manager Neil Lennon ‏(@OfficialNeil) enjoyed watching Newcastle’s win: “Wow…great goals at Newcastle today!”

Magpies keeper Tim Krul (‏@TimKrul) is happy to mark his milestone with a win: “Proud on my 100th appearance for the Toon today.. And what a game to remember.. three points and a fantastic atmosphere #bestfansintheworld”

Former United defender Gary Neville ‏(@GNev2) sees similarities between Rooney’s winner and a Cristiano Ronaldo strike at the Cottage a few seasons ago: “Was Ronaldo’s goal against Fulham a few years ago from similar position left or right foot?”

Fulham striker Alexander Kačaniklić ‏(@AKacaniklic) was sorry to be unable to help his team-mates beat United: “Unfortunate with the result against Man U today, the boys played well!#FFC”

United defender Rio Ferdinand (‏@rioferdy5) is delighted with the victory: “Big three points today, our fans were class today again, heard you loud and clear!! Fulham is always a hard away game. Happy with the clean sheet… Stan Collymore’s last caller on the radio regarding Michael Carrick must be on his sixth can of Stella! Who’s better than him in the position he plays?”

Former Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish ‏(@kennethdalglish) hopes Liverpool can seize the initiative on Sunday: “A good day of results for #LFC. An added incentive to get a result at Eastlands. Prediction of at least a draw.”

Magpies fan Graeme Swann ‏(@Swannyg66) is content with life: “Newcastle beat Chelsea, then top gun follows crocodile Dundee on C4? If the wife steps up to the plate tonight this Saturday makes my top three!”

Finally, United match-winner Wayne Rooney ‏(@WayneRooney) reflects on Saturday’s exploits: “Great result for us yesterday. Getting ready to meet up with the lads at England. Excited for game against Brazil. Big test for us!”
