Messi to score first in Barça v Deportivo – 7/4
With 39 league goals to his name, Messi has been the only Barcelona consistency in recent weeks as the Argentina international has kept scoring despite his side’s struggles. The 25-year-old has already scored 39 La Liga goals this season, netting a total of 18 goals in a run which has seen the forward deliver in 12 consecutive games. He scored a hat-trick at Deportivo earlier this season, and El Tipstro is backing Messi to net first on Saturday at 7/4.
Over 3.5 goals in Barça v Deportivo – 8/13
There is no value in backing Barcelona to beat Deportivo at 1/9, which is very short despite their recent dip in form. El Tipstro prefers to look at the goal markets in this fixture. There have been over 2.5 goals in 20 of Barcelona’s last 21 games in La Liga, while the Spanish leaders have scored at least two goals in their last 10 home games. So El Tipstro reckons that over 3.5 goals at Camp Nou on Saturday is definitely worth a punt at 8/13.
Barça to win without conceding v Deportivo – Evens
Barcelona have experienced a wobble in recent weeks without Tito Vilanova, suffering back-to-back defeats by Real Madrid in the Spanish Cup and La Liga. Barcelona last kept a clean sheet in a 5-0 victory over Cordoba way back on 10 January! But the Catalans will welcome the sight of Deportivo, who they have prevented from scoring in their last three meetings at Camp Nou. So, El Tipstro feels that Barça to win to nil is great value at Evens.
Celta Vigo to win or draw against Real Madrid – 7/4
José Mourinho admitted Manchester United were the better side in Madrid’s 2-1 win at Old Trafford on Tuesday. Los Blancos were underwhelming until Nani’s sending off. Mourinho’s men must switch their focus back to La Liga, and they face a tricky trip to Celta Vigo. Madrid suffered a 2-1 loss in the Copa del Rey at the Balaídos earlier this season. They’ve already racked up four away defeats in the league this season so El Tipstro reckons Celta Vigo to win or draw is worth a punt at 7/4.
The long shot: Falcao to score & Atlético to win 1-0 – 13/1
Atlético Madrid have the most impressive home record in La Liga, winning 13 straight games at the Vicente Calderon this term. Diego Simeone’s men have been able to grind out wins, with three 1-0 victories and two 2-0 triumphs in their last five home games. Atlético’s top scorer is Radamel Falcao with 21 goals, and El Tipstro’s long shot is Falcao to score and Atlético to win 1-0 at 13/1.
