Queens Park Rangers have the chance to keep up the pressure on their relegation rivals on Saturday, and the Tipster is backing Loic Remy to score any time against Sunderland.

Our resident betting expert is predicting a tight game between the Hoops and the Black Cats at Loftus Road, tipping under 2.5 goals.

Also in this edition, read why you should back Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke to net against Reading in what should be a high-scoring game at the Madejski Stadium.

Remy to score any time for QPR v Sunderland – 6/4

When trying to pinpoint a goal-scorer in this fixture, there aren’t really many valid candidates. QPR and Sunderland have both struggled this season, so much so that Luis Suarez has as many goals as the entire Hoops side. The Tipster is inclined to pick Remy to net at Loftus Road. He has two league goals from his three starts and the Frenchman took his strike really well against Southampton as he offered a constant threat in behind. So, Remy to score any time for QPR against Sunderland is worth a bet at 6/4.

Under 2.5 goals in QPR v Sunderland – 3/4

You might be tempted to get involved with QPR again this weekend after a massive win against Southampton saw them move to within four points of 17th-placed Wigan. However, 5/4 is still too short for a team with one home win all season. The safer option is definitely to go with unders. QPR have failed to score in their last five home games. They really struggle to break teams down when they are the ones expected to attack. Sunderland themselves are on a poor run of goal-scoring form, having only managed four in their last five league games. So under 2.5 goals looks a good bet here at 3/4.

Benteke to score any time for Villa v Reading – 11/8

With Reading’s defence being particularly porous of late (eight goals conceded in last three games), so the Tipster fancies Benteke to score. He has been a revelation this season, and to score 11 goals in his debut season in a struggling team, tells you of his quality. He has fared better away from Villa Park of late, with six of his last eight league strikes coming on the road. The Tipster fancies the Belgium international to take his tally to 12 Premier League goals against Reading at 11/8.

Over 2.5 goals in Aston Villa v Reading – 4/5

This is a clichéd ‘six-pointer’ with Aston Villa and Reading both in the drop zone with one point separating them. Just looking at their recent games it seems overs is the way to go here. You have to go back to 29 December for the last time there was less than three goals in a Reading league game, a run stretching over eight games. Similarly the overs have collected in 10 of Villa’s last 12 league encounters and there has been an average of 4.8 goals in Villa’s last six away games. So over 2.5 goals in Villa against Reading is worth a punt at 4/5.

The long shot: Remy to score first and QPR win – 7/1

Remy is the only real bit of attacking quality available to Harry Redknapp, with Bobby Zamora in a fitness battle to be ready for Saturday. The France international scored first in QPR’s win at St Mary’s last Saturday and also broke the deadlock in a 1-1 draw at West Ham on his debut. So The Tipster’s long shot is Remy to score first and QPR to win at very tempting odds of 7/1.
