Wesley Sneijder has played down speculation linking the Galatasaray midfielder with a move to Chelsea this summer.

The Netherlands international was reported to be keen on a move to the Blues to link up with his former Inter Milan manager José Mourinho, with whom the playmaker won the treble in 2010.

Sneijder ended his stay at San Siro by completing a surprise move to Turkish outfit Galatasaray in the January transfer window, despite interest from Liverpool.

While the 29-year-old revealed that he does speak to Mourinho on a regular basis, the former Ajax man rubbished claims he is discussions with the Chelsea boss about a move.

“I am always in talks with Mourinho. I am in contact with him right now,” said Sneijder.

“But this has nothing to do with any transfer negotiations. We are good friends and keep in touch regularly.”
