Paulinho insists that he has not been paying attention to the speculation linking him with a transfer to Tottenham Hotspur in recent days.

Spurs are understood to have had a £17m bid accepted by Corinthians last weeks for the Brazil international as André Villas-Boas looks to bolster his midfield options.

However, the 24-year-old, who helped Brazil beat Spain 3-0 to win the Confederations Cup crown on Sunday night, says he will only now start to think about a possible move to the English top flight.

“I haven’t thought about it [Spurs transfer], said Paulinho. “My mind was 100 per cent on this Confederations Cup. Now that is over, I’m going to sit down with my agent and see what we decide.

“I can’t give you any details at this moment, it’s impossible.

“I will still talk with Corinthians and with my agent before making a decision. When I decide, I’ll tell everyone.

“I will only talk about this from tomorrow [Monday].”
