Mathieu Flamini believes the international break has come at just the right time for Arsenal.

The Gunners moved back top of the Premier League table thanks to Sunday’s 1-1 draw at West Bromwich Albion before the forthcoming round of World Cup qualifiers.

And the French midfielder, who returned to Emirates Stadium on a free transfer this summer, admits he is grateful to have a break from the intense nature of the English top flight.

“I think it [the break] comes at a really good time because we have played a lot,” said Flamini.

“Obviously everybody is tired physically and tired mentally because you have to give 200 per cent in every single game.

“For us it is a chance to have players coming back into the group like maybe Theo [Walcott] and Santi [Cazorla]. I hope everyone will be back soon.”
