The Germany international has made four assists in three top-flight games for the Gunners after completing a club-record £42.5m move to north London from Real Madrid on deadline day.
Arsenal are currently on a 10-game winning run following a surprise 3-1 loss to Aston Villa at Emirates Stadium on the opening day of the Premier League campaign in August.
And Dalglish, who was appointed to Liverpool’s Board of Directors on Friday, reckons Özil’s arrival has changed the landscape of the English top-flight this season.
“The way everybody is praising him now, it looks like [manager] Arsène Wenger has wiped the slate clean with the signing of Mesut Özil,” Dalglish wrote in his column in the Mirror.
“With the football education he has had, he will not be one to shirk his responsibilities when it comes to tracking back either.
“His arrival seems to have changed everything, but we’ll find out how good the Gunners really are in a few weeks’ time. The rest are going to have to work hard to knock them off their perch.”
