Nacer Chaldi wants to secure a short-term loan in January, according to the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder’s agent.

The 24-year-old has struggled to secure a regular starting berth this season under Andre Villas-Boas and the Portuguese’s successor Tim Sherwood.

Chadli has made two assists in seven Premier League starts after the midfielder’s £7m switch to White Hart Lane from FC Twente in the summer.

The Spurs man has scored twice in 18 appearances for Belgium, and his agent Daniel Evrard admitted that Chadli’s World Cup chances are being damaged by a lack of football.

“His situation is not easy at Tottenham at the moment,” the Daily Star quotes Evrard as saying.

“The World Cup is arriving, so it’s a problem.

“We haven’t spoken to Tottenham yet but I know there are clubs interested in him. It’s very difficult for him because we’ve not seen the best of him at Tottenham. He has big potential so he is a little bit frustrated.”
