Jose Mourinho and Brendan Rodgers are cultivating a winning mentality at Chelsea and Liverpool, according to six-time Grand Slam winner Boris Becker.

The former German tennis player is no stranger to the mental challenge of remaining at the top of his sport, having become the youngest-ever Major winner at Wimbledon in 1985.

Becker, who is a keen Chelsea supporter, was impressed by Mourinho’s Chelsea after the Blues sealed a 3-0 win against Newcastle United thanks to Eden Hazard’s stunning hat-trick.

“What about @chelseafc ….it’s amazing what @josemourinhotv with his winning mentality can do !!! Praising #Hazard and 3goals later ……,” Becker posted on his Twitter account after Chelsea moved to the top of the Premier League table.

Becker, who is currently coaching world No2 Novak Djokovic, also reserved special praise for Rodgers following Liverpool’s 5-1 victory over title contenders Arsenal.

The German added: “Think the same about @BrendanRogers7 btw ! It’s only question of time before @LFC will win trophies with this manager/attitude!!!”
