Arsene Wenger gave nothing away about Arsenal’s plans for the forthcoming transfer window after being quizzed on his objectives for summer.

Wenger has seen his side fall dramatically off the pace in the Premier League in recent weeks, with a dismal run of just one win in six top-flight outings dropping the Gunners down to fourth place.

Arsenal have had to cope with a number of injuries to key players, including Aaron Ramsey, Mesut Ozil, Jack Wilshere, Theo Walcott and Laurent Koscielny, at a crucial stage of the season.

And the Frenchman believes that it is important to analyse why his side have suffered so many injuries before he looks to bring in some fresh faces in the summer.

Asked if he is planning a major overhaul of his squad in the summer, Wenger replied: “We’ll see. Let’s see first how we finish. We have the basics.

“What is important for us is that we have our players back available. Our main task will be to keep the team together and think ‘where did we go wrong?’ because there are a lot of positives in our season as well.

“We were 17 times the leader in the league and we have dropped off when we lost our players at the important moment of the season – and that’s what we don’t want to repeat.”

Arsenal have the chance to end the season with some silverware as they take on Wigan Athletic in the semi-finals of the FA Cup on Saturday.
