The Germany international scored either side of half-time to help the north London side edge to a 3-1 victory over West Ham United at The Emirates on Tuesday night.
Arsenal boast a point lead over fifth-placed Everton, although the Toffees have played one game less than Arsene Wenger’s men ahead of their game against Crystal Palace.
And Podolski took to his Instagram account to call on the Gunners to see out the season in style ahead of their trip to Hull City on Sunday.
Podolski posted: “Fantastic atmosphere last night..Thanks fans for your consequent outstanding support!! Five games left – coyg! Let’s have a great finish of the season together!! #afc #fans #support #podolski #coyg #poldi #aha #gunner #redarmy”
Arsenal manager Wenger heaped praise on Podolski following the Germany international fifth and sixth Premier League goals of the season.
“I played him centre forward a few times and I felt he came a lot to the ball, more like an off-striker than a target striker,” Podolski told Arsenal’s website.
“But he is a fantastic finisher because he has unbelievable power and a very short backlift. So the one you want to have a chance is him.”
