The Denmark international scored a dramatic injury-time equaliser to seal a 3-3 draw with West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns on Saturday.
Eriksen is one who just can’t be left out. He’s Bergkamp-esque
Eriksen collected the ball on the edge of Ben Foster’s area before cutting inside and firing a powerful effort past the Baggies goalkeeper.
The 22-year-old has scored seven goals and made six assists in 21 Premier League appearances following a £15m move from Ajax last summer.
And Spurs manager Sherwood admitted it is difficult to leave Eriksen out of the Tottenham starting line-up.
“Eriksen is one who just can’t be left out. He’s Bergkamp-esque,” Sherwood said.
“You want someone to rush those chances, as an opposition manager, but when it lands to him you know he’s going to be ice cold.
“Once he cut inside I knew the net was catching the ball.”
Earlier this month, Eriksen dismissed reports claiming that he could quit Tottenham this summer.
“I’m happy here and I am looking forward to the future,” Eriksen told the Daily Mirror.
“For me, the feeling I have at the club isn’t dependent on being in the Champions League.”
