The 25-year-old is a reported target for Everton as Roberto Martinez aims to strengthen his squad ahead of their participation in the Europa League next season.
Perisic, who plays predominantly as a winger, scored 10 goals and made five assists in 30 Bundesliga appearances last season, earning a spot on Croatia’s World Cup squad.
And the Wolfsburg man has impressed at the major tournament after netting in a 4-0 victory over Cameroon in his country’s must-win Group A clash on Thursday night.
But Perisic’s agent has dealt Everton a blow after admitting the Croatian forward is in talks with Coppa italia winners Napoli.
“Personally, I am in regular contact with Napoli for my assistants, including Perisic, who I can confirm is wanted by director Riccardo Bigon,” Toni Martic told AreaNapoli.it.
“Many Serie A clubs are interested in Perisic. He is very happy at Wolfsburg, but if the two clubs were to reach an agreement for his transfer to Napoli, then he’d be very happy to play in Serie A.”
