Two years ago in London the 22-year-old won both of her golds on the track, forming part of the victorious team pursuit squad as well as taking the individual omnium title.
However the four-time world team pursuit champion showed she was equally adept on the road, as she crossed the line first in Abergavenny to take not only the senior title but also retain her Under-23 road crown.
It came after Trott formed part of a five-strong chasing pack which went in search of race leader and reigning women’s road race champion Lizzie Armitstead heading into the final lap of the race.
The Olympic road race silver medallist had attacked with over two laps of the circuit remaining, at one stage building up a 17-second lead on her opponents.
But she was caught by the trio of Trott, Dani King and Emma Pooley – winner of Thursday’s time trial – in the closing stages before Trott won the sprint battle to take victory.
Second went to King while Armitstead was eventually third with Sharon Laws in fourth.
