Daley Blind insists that he is paying no attention to the speculation linking him with a transfer to Manchester United during the World Cup.

The Ajax defender, who can also play in midfield, has been touted as a possible target for new United boss and current Netherlands head coach Louis van Gaal in recent days.

I try not to think about it too much and will stay with my feet on the ground

However, the 24-year-old says that he is purely focused on performing for Holland at the World Cup and is not thinking about his future.

“All the attention is a very big thing now, but I try not to think about it too much and will stay with my feet on the ground,” said Blind.

“The link with Manchester United is easily made because Robin [van Persie] is playing there and Louis van Gaal takes over next season.”

Blind made two assists as the Netherlands beat Spain 5-1 in their World Cup opener on Friday.
