Mats Hummels say he isn’t thinking about speculation linking the Borussia Dortmund defender with a move to Manchester United after the World Cup.

The 25-year-old centre-half scored Germany’s second goal in a 4-0 victory over 10-man Portugal in their Group G opener on Monday evening.

Louis van Gaal, who is set to take charge of United after the major tournament, has been linked with a big-money move for the Dortmund star.

But Hummels is refusing to discuss his club future during Germany’s World Cup campaign.

“I never think about that or talk about that because it is something that isn’t important for me right now,” Hummels is quoted as saying by Daily Mail.

“Maybe it will be someday, but I don’t expect it to be link that this summer.”

Hummels is expecting to be fit for Germany’s next clash against Ghana despite being forced off with cramp during the second half of the Group G opener.

“It’s not a problem. It will take a bit of ice, but it is ok,” Hummels added.

“I just had a cramp in my calf before I did it, but I hope it is just a bruise that will be ok in 2-3 days.”

Hummels talked up the importance of his goal in the rout against Portugal as Germany cemented their tag as one of the favourites to win the World Cup.

“Yes, it was very important for us. It is very nice to score in a World Cup because it is something you dream of as a child. It was a great moment for me,” Hummels continued.

“It can be very big for us because we know what we can do if we play like we did today.

“If we are concentrated and focused, both defensively and offensively, then we are a good team and that is the way we play.

“If we can do that in every game, we are going to have a good chance to be very successful.”
