Mousa Dembele is hoping to rekindle his Tottenham Hotspur career under Mauricio Pochettino.

The Belgium international has played under Andre Villas-Boas and Tim Sherwood since completing a £15m move to White Hart Lane from London rivals Fulham in 2012.

Dembele was in and out of the Spurs first-team last season as the 26-year-old struggled with form, scoring one goal in 28 Premier League appearances.

But the former AZ Alkmaar midfielder is looking forward to working under Argentine Pochettino, who was appointed as Sherwood’s successor last month.

“I have heard a lot of good stories about Pochettino so I hope it will be a good appointment,” said Dembele in the Sun.

“The style Southampton played under him was very impressive. Let’s hope it is going to be the same at Tottenham as well.

“Of course it’s good to have a change and a fresh start. We have a very good group of players and if we have a very good manager as well, then we can do big things.

“I hope I can fit in well under the new manager but we have to know what his plans are first.”
