Real Madrid transfers: James Rodríguez admits that he is keen on sealing a move to La Liga in the future

James Rodriguez says that he would favour a move to Real Madrid over Barcelona if he had to make a choice between the two Spanish clubs.

The 22-year-old has emerged as one of the stars of the World Cup and scored a sumptuous volley to help Colombia beat Uruguay 2-0 and reach the quarter-finals on Saturday night.

The Monaco star has now scored five goals in four games in Brazil and his impressive form has inevitably triggered speculation about his future.

And the attacking midfielder admits that he would love to seal a move to La Liga in the future.

“I would love to play in Spain,” said James. “It would be a dream to play there – it is the best league in the world.”

When pushed on his favoured destination, he told Cadena Cope: “I prefer Madrid to Barcelona.”
