Mikel Arteta will not be leaving Arsenal this summer, according to the midfielder’s agent.

The 32-year-old Spaniard has been linked with a transfer to Athletic Bilbao as he enters the final year of his Gunners contract.

However, the player’s representative Inaki Ibanez insists that there is no chance of his client leaving Emirates Stadium ahead of next season.

“This is totally false,” Ibanez told El Mundo Deportivo. “Mikel has no interest in leaving Arsenal.”

Arteta, who joined Arsenal from Everton back in 2011, made 31 Premier League appearances for Arsene Wenger’s side last season, scoring two goals.
