Vincent Kompany has taken to Twitter to rally his Belgium team-mates ahead of their clash against USA on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Michael Owen is tipping Argentina to get past Switzerland – and Paddy Power are offering new customers enhanced odds of 3/1 on Lionel Messi and co to secure victory.

Here is the best of the Twitter reaction previewing Tuesday’s last-16 games.

Belgium captain Vincent Kompany (@VincentKompany) tweets his rallying cry: “#BELUSA matchday #tousensemble”

A very Everton feel to Tim Cahill’s (@Tim_Cahill) pre-match tweet: “#worldcupday #Evertonday Can’t wait for #USA #BEL #Howard #Felli #Lukaku #Miralles #Ibelieve”

Ex-Liverpool defender Djimi Traore (@Djimi_Traore19) thinks the Belgians will lose in extra-time: “Prediction #WorldCup2014 #ARG – #SUI: 2-0 #BEL – #USA: 1-1 (AET:1-2) #USA win.”

Former Aston Villa striker Stan Collymore (@StanCollymore) give the Swiss some advice: “#ARG v #SUI 5pm. Huge task for Inler/Behrami today to shackle Messi but if they can, convinced Shaquiri… #talkSPORT”
