Brendan Rodgers has told Liverpool fans that the Reds are still looking to bolster their squad ahead of their return to the Champions League next season.

The Merseyside outfit have already brought in Adam Lallana, Rickie Lambert, Emre Can, Lazar Markovic, Dejan Lovren and Divock Origi so far this summer following the sale of Luis Suarez to Barcelona.

However, the Liverpool boss is still keen to bring in further additions ahead of the new campaign.

“We’ve brought in specific players for specific roles – players who fit the profile of how we work,” Rodgers said.

“Of course it’s going to take them a little more time than normal in terms of their induction.

“We still have some pieces that we want to fill from the squad so that by the August we’ll be strong. There’s players to go forward with, so yeah, there’s still some business to do.”
