Louis van Gaal was critical of Manchester United’s performance despite a 3-2 victory over Roma on Saturday night.

England international Wayne Rooney impressed as the 28-year-old netted twice, whilst club-record signing Juan Mata added a third to seal successive pre-season victories on United’s tour of USA.

However, Van Gaal, who signed a three-year deal to become United manager in May, refused to get carried away by the Red Devils’s display, criticising his side’s passing against the Serie A outfit.

“I am pleased that we have won but it was not a good performance,” Van Gaal is quoted as saying.

Here are some of the best photos from United’s 3-2 win.
