Simona Halep is wary of the threat posed by “dangerous” Eugenie Bouchard after beating Sabine Lisicki in straight sets to reach Wimbledon last four.

The Romanian third seed came from 4-1 down in the first set against last year’s Wimbledon runner-up to beat Germany’s Lisicki 6-4 6-0 on Centre Court.

Halep will face Bouchard, who recorded a 6-3 6-4 win against Maria Sharapova’s conqueror Angelique Kerber, for a place in her first final at SW19.

And the 22-year-old French Open finalist said of her semi-final opponent: “Tomorrow, it’s another day, so will be different match.

“But I have confidence in myself. I believe that I can win, but I expect a tough match. She’s a great player and she’s playing really well, so I have just to enjoy it.”

Halep continued: “Her style, it’s dangerous on grass because she’s playing very flat. She stays very close to the baseline, so she’s playing fast.

“But I play, as well, close to the baseline and I’m aggressive. So we’ll see tomorrow. But I expect very tough match because she’s a good player.”

Meanwhile, Lisicki was staying positive after recording four back-to-back wins at Wimbledon following a tough start to 2014.

“After the last five months, it was good to come back and finally win four matches in a row at the tournament that I love so much, too, just be able to turn it around again.,” Lisicki added.

“It’s something that’s important, and I think it’s something that will help me the next few weeks. The last not only two weeks here, but after Paris I really started to do whatever I could again to be able to play well again.

“You know, I was just more free again. So that’s good.”
