Mesut Ozil is convinced that Arsenal have what it takes to reach the Champions League final this season.

The Gunners booked their place in the group stage of Europe’s elite club competition thanks to a 1-0 play-off victory over Besiktas in midweek.

We have the potential to reach the final. We should always believe everything is achievable

Arsene Wenger’s side have been pitted with Borussia Dortmund, Galatasaray and Anderlecht in Group D.

And Ozil feels that the north London side have the potential to go far in the competition this term.

“We’ve strengthened our squad. We also want to show that we can play better in the Champions League,” Ozil said.

“It’s a difficult group, and we know Borussia Dortmund well, but we don’t need to be scared of anyone. They know exactly how strong we are.

“We have the potential to reach the final. We should always believe everything is achievable.

“Not many people thought Atletico Madrid would get to the final. If you work hard anything is possible.”
