Arsene Wenger has refused to be drawn on the speculation linking Arsenal with a swoop for Paris Saint-Germain teenager Adrien Rabiot.

The 19-year-old central midfielder is among the names to have been linked with a move to the north London club in recent weeks ahead of next week’s transfer deadline.

The France under-21 international has also been touted as a possible target for Manchester City in recent months.

But Wenger gave nothing away when quizzed Rabiot on Friday during his weekly news briefing.

Asked directly about Rabiot, Wenger replied: “I just put one answer: I don’t tell you.”

Wenger did, however, refuse to rule out the possibility of making some signings before Monday’s deadline.

“I will be actively involved but on the last day of the window,” he said. “I will of course be on alert until the last minute of the transfer deadline.

“The last few days are poker games. There’s a lot of lies there in the few days, everybody is interested in the same player even if you’re the only one who wants the player.”
