The France international was set to feature for the Hoops against Sunderland on Saturday but was left out of the squad at short notice after Chelsea swooped for the 27-year-old.
The news comes after Torres sealed a move to AC Milan on a two-year loan deal.
“It looks like it [Remy’s move] is done,” said QPR boss Harry Redknapp. “As far as I know it’s to Chelsea.
“He was in the team. I just got a phone call about 12 o’clock to say it looks like he is going to be moving.
“He didn’t refuse to play, but it’s difficult to go out there to play and get your head around it.”
Remy was due to sign for Liverpool in July but the move collapsed amid reports that the forward failed a medical.
