Gary Lineker believes that Arsenal need to sign a striker before Monday’s transfer deadline or face a scrap for a top-four finish this season.

Arsene Wenger’s men were held to a 1-1 draw by a battling Leicester City on Sunday as the Gunners deployed Yaya Sanogo up front.

Arsenal are set to be without first-choice forward Olivier Giroud until the new year due to a broken leg.

The north London side were linked with a move for Loic Remy before the France striker joined Chelsea on a four-year deal from Queens Park Rangers on Sunday.

And former England international Lineker feels that Arsenal could struggle to secure a top-four finish this season unless they bolster their attacking options.

Sunday’s draw left Arsenal seventh in the Premier League table on five points heading into the international break.
