The Spain international is set to complete a move to the Serie A outfit after Milan agreed a two-year loan deal with the west London side on Friday evening.

Torres, who underwent a medical in Milan on Saturday, will replace Italy striker Balotelli following the 24-year-old’s £16m switch to the Spaniard’s former club, Liverpool, last week.

And ex-Manchester City forward Balotelli, who could make his Reds debut at Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, was quick to post a message of support ahead of confirmation of Torres’s switch.

“Good Luck Fernando ! Make ac Milan flying high again!” Balotelli posted on Instagram.

Milan confirmed that 30-year-old Torres, who scored just 20 goals in 110 Premier League appearances during his spell at Stamford Bridge, had arrived for his medical earlier on Saturday.
