Memphis Depay has told Manchester United fans to “wait and see” amid the continuing speculation linking him with a transfer to Old Trafford.

The 20-year-old Netherlands international has been touted as a potential target for new Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal as he looks to bolster his midfield options ahead his first campaign in charge at Old Trafford.

But the PSV Eindhoven winger refused be drawn on the speculation surrounding his future.

“I’ve been asked that question a hundred times. I’m not going to answer,” Depay told NOS when asked about a potential move.

“It’s wait and see, but for now I stay in Eindhoven.”

Speaking earlier this summer, the player himself admitted that he had heard about the reported interest in his services from the Premier League.

“Of course I’ve read that Manchester United, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur are interested,” Depay told Algemeen Dagblad. “But no more than that.

“I’ll see later. My agent Kees Ploegsma is here [in Brazil] too, but we are not talking about that kind of stuff. That is for after the World Cup.”
