Daniel Sturridge has wished himself a happy birthday after the Liverpool striker turned 25 on Monday.

The England international helped Liverpool secure an impressive 3-0 win at Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday as Brendan Rodgers’ men notched up their second Premier League win of the season.

The striker posted the picture above on his official Instagram account, along with an emotional message paying tribute to those close to him.

He wrote: “Big man now… Happy 25th to me! Thanks GOD for another year and I also want to thanks Triple F. Family, friends and the fans.

“Been an emotional journey for me with highs and lows. Without you all I wouldn’t be the man I am today. Love you all. Daniel

“P.s that’s my trademark old school line in hair straight faced pose. I ain’t changed!!”

Earlier, Mario Balotelli also wished his new team-mate many happy returns – but cheekily warned him to improve his goal celebration.

Balotelli posted on Instagram: “Happy birthday bro:-) i hope now.. that u are older you will get better in dancing !!! LOL”
