Mario Balotelli has admitted that he cannot wait to make his Anfield debut after joining Liverpool last month.

The Italy striker made his first appearance in a Liverpool shirt on Sunday as Brendan Rodgers’ men ran out 3-0 winners at Tottenham Hotspur.

Balotelli is in line to make his Anfield bow when the Reds host Aston Villa on Merseyside on 13 September.

And the 24-year-old took to his Instagram account to underline his excitement about playing his first home game for his new club.

Balotelli posted the picture above, and wrote: “Looking forwad to my first game in ANFIELD”

The former Manchester City striker joined Liverpool from AC Milan in a deal believed to be worth around £16m last week.

Balotelli has been notably active on Instagram following the move and appears keen to endear himself to the club’s fans.

The forward last week posted a picture of himself as all four members of The Beatles.
