The Red Devils wrapped up a late deadline-day deal to bring the 28-year-old to Old Trafford from Monaco for the 2014-15 campaign in a transfer believed to be worth £6m.
It was a dream to play in the Premier League
United have the option to buy the forward at the end of his temporary spell in England – and the Colombia international is relishing a new challenge.
“I am delighted to be joining Manchester United on loan this season,” Falcao said.
“Manchester United is the biggest club in the world and is clearly determined to get back to the top.
“I am looking forward to working with Louis van Gaal and contributing to the team’s success at this very exciting period in the club’s history.”
The forward admitted that deadline day proved to be a hectic affair for all concerned.
“It was a very long day,” he said. “It was hard, difficult. We were waiting until the last minute but I didn’t lose my faith. Now I want to say thank you to God for this. I’m very happy.
“For me, it was a dream to play in the Premier League. I always wanted to be here because this league is very good.”
