Kieran Gibbs admits that Theo Walcott’s return to action will come as a welcome boost for Arsenal.

The England international resumed full training this week after nine months on the sidelines following a serious knee injury which required surgery.

And Gibbs believes that Walcott’s return will help Arsenal to cope with the absence of Mesut Ozil, who has been ruled out until the new year with a knee injury.

“It is good to have Theo Walcott in the team, because he is such an important player for us,” Gibbs told sportlobster. “Theo coming back will give us a big boost.

“It is difficult to get over an injury like his and it takes a lot of commitment and dedication, but he will be fitter and stronger than ever.

“The timing of his return is pretty good, what with Özil being injured – this was a big blow for us.”
