Arsene Wenger has promised Arsenal fans that he will dip into the transfer market in January.

The Gunners have had to deal with long-term injuries to the likes of Mathieu Debuchy, Olivier Giroud, Aaron Ramsey and Mesut Ozil in recent weeks.

We will try to rectify that in December and January because we are a bit short

Arsene Wenger

The Frenchman concedes that he has been left short of options and is planning to strengthen his squad in the winter window.

“I agree we could have bought one more player [in the summer],” Wenger said, speaking at the club’s AGM.

“We have done remarkably well in transfer window. We tried to buy one more, a defender, but we didn’t find one.

“We will try to rectify that in December and January because we are a bit short.”

Wenger’s Arsenal take on Hull City in the Premier League at Emirates Stadium on Saturday.
