Juan Mata has promised Manchester United will work hard in training this week in order to secure victory over West Bromwich Albion next Monday.

The Red Devils were 2-1 winners against Everton at Old Trafford before the international break, helping Louis van Gaal’s side climb up to fourth place in the Premier League table.

Mata, who moved to United in a £37.1m deal from Chelsea in January, was restored to the starting line-up after Wayne Rooney’s suspension, teeing up Angel di Maria for the opener.

And the 25-year-old, who was omitted from Vicente Del Bosque’s Spain squad, can’t wait to help United secure back-to-back Premier League wins for the first time under Van Gaal.

“I’m on my way back to Manchester looking forward to our game against West Brom next Monday, the one that closes the eighth week,” Mata wrote in his blog, One Hour Behind.

“I’m sure we will work very well on it during these coming days in order to get a new victory.”

Mata has scored one goal and made two assists in five Premier League appearances this season.
