Raheem Sterling doesn’t appear to be letting the recent controversy surrounding the Liverpool winger affect him as looked sharp in training at Melwood on Friday morning.

The England international has been at the centre of a media storm after he reportedly told Roy Hodgson that he was “too tired” to start Sunday’s 1-0 Euro 2016 qualifier win over Estonia.

However, the teenager appeared in good shape as Liverpool were put through their paces ahead of their clash with Queens Park Rangers on Sunday.

Also in action were captain Steven Gerrard and striker Mario Balotelli as Brendan Rdogers’ men look to make it back-to-back wins in the top flight after the 2-1 victory over West Brom in their last outing.

Liverpool are currently ninth in the Premier League table after taking 10 points from their opening seven games.

Here are some of the best pictures from Friday’s training session at Melwood.
