Didier Deschamps is set to rest Lloris for Tuesday’s clash against Armenia after the Spurs goalkeeper incurred the injury setback ahead of the friendly.
The France first-choice goalkeeper wasn’t in the starting line-up for his country’s 2-1 victory over Portugal on Saturday after suffering the problem in training.
Lloris, who moved to Spurs from Lyon in 2012, has been a mainstay of the Tottenham first-team under Mauricio Pochettino, featuring in all seven of their Premier League games.
And France manager Deschamps delivered an injury update on the 27-year-old shot stopper ahead of les Bleus’s clash against Armenia.
“For Hugo, he is a lot better but he won’t play tomorrow (Tuesday),” Deschamps said.
Last month, Spurs manager Pochettino hailed the Tottenham shot stopper as one of the world’s leading goalkeepers.
“I think he is one of the best goalkeepers in the world, not just the Premier League. He is unbelievable,” Pochettino told Sky Sports.
“[Manuel] Neuer, [Wojciech] Szczesny… I think there are a lot of good keepers. But Lloris is one of them.”
