Arsenal are very lucky to have Alexis Sanchez, according to Paul Merson.

The Gunners striker continued his recent goal-scoring run on Tuesday night as the Chilean netted in a 3-3 draw with Anderlecht at The Emirates in the Champions League.

And former Arsenal midfielder reckons Sanchez will be key when Arsene Wenger’s side make the trip to Swansea City on Saturday, highlighting Wilfried Bony as the danger man.

“This is a hard game for Arsenal, especially after what happened against Anderlecht,” Merson told Sky Sports.

“I don’t just blame the back four because defending is done from the front and you have to blame everybody in the team. They are very lucky that they’ve got Alexis Sanchez because he’s been outstanding.

“They will be in trouble in the Champions League if they don’t win their group, so the priority has to be top four this season.

“However, I think this will be a hard game for them. I like Wilfried Bony and I think Swansea will cause problems.”

Sanchez has scored 10 goals and made three assists in 14 appearances in all competitions this season following a £35m move to Arsenal from Barcelona in July.
