Arsene Wenger insists that Joel Campbell remains part of his long-term plans at Arsenal.

Speculation surrounding the Costa Rica international’s future at the north London club has been rife in recent weeks due to his lack of first-team action this season.

Campbell, 22, has played just 37 minutes in the Premier League this term and has been linked with a move away from Emirates Stadium.

But when asked if Campbell remains part of his plans, Wenger replied: “Yes, of course.”

The Gunners boss was then pressed on whether Campbell is happy at the north London club or not.

He continued: “You should ask him that question, I cannot guarantee the happiness of every individual person. I try to make everybody happy.

“I personally love Joel Campbell and have a big respect for him. I wish every day that he’s happy from morning until evening. But we have all to deal with our own problems.”

Does Joel Campbell deserve more Arsenal playing time?
