Ray Wilkins believes it is impossible for Chelsea to go unbeaten this season.

The Blues are six points clear at the top of the Premier League table after a 2-0 victory over West Bromwich Albion last weekend.

Jose Mourinho’s side have already notched up 10 wins and two draws in 12 Premier League games, avoiding defeat at Anfield, The Etihad and Old Trafford.

While Wilkins is impressed with the brand of football that Chelsea have produced, the former Blues assistant manager doesn’t envisage an unbeaten season.

“I’ve always said it’s impossible,” Wilkins told talkSPORT. “I don’t think they’ll go the season undefeated.

“They’ll come up against a club, when they’re a little bit tired after their travels, and someone will turn them over.

“They’re playing some exquisite stuff though.”

Chelsea qualified for the Champions League knockout stage thanks to a 5-0 win at Schalke on Tuesday night.
