Lukas Podolski has issued a rallying cry ahead of Arsenal’s clash against Borussia Dortmund, warning Gunners fans to expect a cold night at The Emirates.

The north London club can book their place in the Champions League knockout stage if they pick up a point against the Bundesliga outfit.

And Podolski could be set for a particularly icy evening if he occupies the bench, as the German has done for much of the season.

“Champions League match day. Tonight’s going to be cold, keep warm with a @strassenkicker Gunners beanie!” Podolski posted on Instagram.

Proving that he really is Arsenal’s most-prolific social media user, Podolski added: “Champions league !! MatchDay… Come on Gunners #ChampionsLeague #Arsenal #AFCBVB #Poldi #RedArmy #COYG”

Arsenal and Dortmund are in the same Champions League group for the third time in four seasons.

Dortmund were 2-0 winners in Germany on matchday one, Ciro Immobile and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scoring either side of half-time.

Last season Dortmund won 2-1 in London. Henrikh Mkhitaryan was on target for the visitors with Olivier Giroud equalising his early strike.

Arsenal then triumphed 1-0 in Germany with an Aaron Ramsey goal.
