Mario Balotelli is not available for Liverpool’s clash with Stoke City on Saturday afternoon, Brendan Rodgers has confirmed.

The Italy striker has been out of action since returning from international duty with a groin injury and has missed the Reds’ last two games.

Asked if Balotelli could feature against the Potters at Anfield, Rodgers replied: “Not yet, no.

“We’ll have the same squad as the other night.”

Rodgers has found himself under increasing pressure in recent weeks after a stuttering start to the season for the Merseysiders.

Liverpool have won just four of their opening 12 Premier League games and lost at Crystal Palace last weekend.

“A few months ago I was manager of the year, now I’m tipped to get sacked,” added Rodgers. “All I can focus on is what you can control.”
