Carlos Tevez has revealed Manchester United suffered from too many big egos during his two-year stay at Old Trafford.

The Argentina international won two Premier League titles, the Champions League and the League Cup before he controversially made the switch to bitter rivals Manchester City in 2009.

Tevez scored 58 goals in 113 top-flight games for the Citizens, but his stay at The Etihad was blighted with talk of a return to South American amid his reported unhappiness in Manchester.

However, the 31-year-old, who moved to Juventus from City in a £12m deal in 2013, said that he enjoyed his time more than his United career, aside from his famous touchline bust-up with Roberto Mancini.

Tevez told El Pais: “Not really at Manchester United because there were so many big egos there. At City I did, but I made a mistake and paid for it. I considered quitting football.”

Tevez has won the Serie A title and Italian Super Cup since he completed his switch to Italy’s most-decorated club from the reigning Premier League champions.

The South American has scored 33 goals in 54 Serie A games.
