Reds manager Brendan Rodgers has been linked with a host of goalkeeper throughout the season after current number one Simon Mignolet made an inconsistent start to the season.
Atalanta shot stopper Sportiello was one of the names touted with a potential switch to Anfield from the Serie A club after an impressive season with his current employers.
Although the 22-year-old is flattered to be linked with a club as prestigious as Liverpool, Sportiello was keen to emphasise that he is happy at Atalanta at the moment.
“Liverpool are definitely a great club,” Sportiello is quoted as saying by Football Italia.
“We’re talking about one of the top clubs in the world. That said, I’m happy to be here, this is my first year as a starter and I’ve signed a new contract with Atalanta.
“My life has changed in a few months.”
Sportiello has kept eight clean sheets in 26 Serie A appearances this season, including a stalemate at Parma at the weekend.
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has also been linked with Fiorentina shot stopper Neto in recent months, although Mignolet has seen a recent upturn in form.
The Belgium international joined Liverpool in a £9m deal from Sunderland in 2013.
