Borussia Dortmund have not received any offers for Manchester United target Mats Hummels, the club’s chief executive has claimed.

The Germany international has been linked with a big-money move to Old Trafford throughout much of the season, particularly in light of Dortmund’s disappointing Bundesliga form.

The 26-year-old centre-half has a contract that is set to run until the end of 2016/17 campaign, alerting United to the possibility of making a swoop for the highly-rated World Cup winner.

However, Dortmund chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke moved to play down reports suggesting that Germany defender Hummels could leave the 2012 Bundesliga champions in the summer transfer window.

“Mats has a contract with us until June 2017 and we have not received any offers for him yet, so we are relaxed,” Watzke told Bild.

“He had a conversation with sporting director Michael Zorc two weeks ago. Mats informed us that he is thinking about his future and there is nothing wrong with that.”

Hummels has scored one goal in 17 Bundesliga appearances for Dortmund so far this season.

The Dortmund centre-half was part of Joachim Low’s Germany side that won the World Cup in Brazil last summer.

The Germany international defender has scored 21 goals in 240 appearances for Jurgen Klopp’s Dortmund following his move from Bayern Munich in 2007.
